I was thinking of Grandpa today, and I remembered a couple of stories that I want to share. One of the last thing Grandpa ever said to me was an anti-smoking PSA. He said that if you're thinking of smoking, your should just take the cigarettes, put them in your butt and light em up. Looking back, it seems like a nonsensical thing to say, but I know that he was in a lot of pain there at the end. I loved Grandpa and I wish that he hadn't spent so many years smoking.
I also remember that one year my parents bought Grandpa a Stetson hat. He never wore it, claiming that he was saving it for a special occasion. Well, when Aunt Tina was getting married, my mom asked him about the hat again, and he used his standard response of saving it for something special. I remember Mom looking at Grandpa and asking "well Glen, what's more special than a wedding?" And, as I recall, he wore it that day :)
